“The Armoire”

Basak Malone LLC is pleased to announce “The Armoire” featuring
Semra Ecer by her classic, expressive, and highly stylized sculptures, jewels
and objects. Istanbul’s loved artist Ecer internationally exhibited in
venues including SOFA at Park Avenue Armory.

The gallery artist Matthew Lauretti, compliments Ecer venturing the wall
space with his new series of works that explore his disparate interest
in New York City.

The exhibition “The Armoire” intends to satisfy the need for a
diverse and subtle personal statement by supporting experimental mediums and jewelry as a cultural expression of our time.

Curator Basak Malone’s project ‘Departure’ sets 10 artists into motion questioning how to let go. “Letting go” is what we are left to reconcile with and this is where we are asked to make a leap continuously and impromptu.

Departure artists:  Jennifer Contini Enderby,   Knut Peter Hoffmann, Eva Buchrainer, , Martine Cyr, Maria Luisa Imperiali , Anna Kajsa Alaoui , Nino Korinteli, Marianne Liegl, Georgeta Stefanescu  and Anna VanMatre  will be on the view between October 1-30, 2011.

In this trendy and fashionable hotel, Matthew Lauretti will present his latest series about Manhattan. This young Italian-American artist’s con­tri­bu­tions to the art world are inno­v­a­tive and incred­i­bly alluring. In his third New York solo Lauretti is interpreting the Big Apple using his large scale calligraphic style paintings on industrial fabric.
